Job Description

Responsible for designing, developing, and testing software modules, ensuring optimal functionality and performance of various systems. This role involves a combination of technical expertise and collaboration with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver high-quality software solutions.

The developer will work with team members based in both Singapore and Zurich to help maintain the current trading platform and improve and create new functions and frameworks upon which our trading platform is built. The developer will be in close collaboration with business and other stakeholders to design new requirements, design innovative solutions, and implement them. As part of the development team on digital applications, the developer will also provide first or second level support to the business and other stakeholders when called.

Stakeholder management

• Solicit and discuss requirements and solutions with business owners and stakeholders.

Backend Development

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using either Java or C#. Optimize server-side performance and ensure data integrity and security.
• Ensure seamless monitoring or application.

System Integration

• Work on integrating various financial systems and third-party services, ensuring smooth data flow and interoperability.

Code quality and best practices

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to industry best practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

Troubleshooting and support

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues across the stack, providing support for both development and production environments.

Frontend Development

• Able to contribute to build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using ReactJS is a plus.

Regulatory responsibilities and risk management

• Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviors including but not limited to standards on risk and control and risk management, risk management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Professional and Technical

• Relevant higher education and professional background with 10+ years of experience in software development of which at least 5 years backend development. Relevant work experience in the financial industry or similar.
• Proficiency hands-on C#/Java
• Good knowledge of microservices architecture, patterns and frameworks (e.g. reactive extensions)
• Good knowledge of RAD/Scrum, GITHUB and GraphQL.
• Good command of SQL, NoSQL and GraphQL.
• Collaborative and a strong team player.
• Ability to work on a global team that has members in Singapore and Switzerland.
• Willing to work on a job rotation that has members in Singapore and Switzerland.
• Good knowledge of current JavaScript/frontend frameworks (ReactJS) and technologies (TypeScript) is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of GraphQL/Protobuf/gRPC and message queues is an advantage.
• Familiarity with GraphQL is plus
• Familiarity with middleware technologies and package managers (e.g. Hibernate, NPM) is a plus.
