Account Manager - Intermediaries

The Account Manager - Intermediaries is responsible for managing client accounts, performing administrative tasks and supporting Relationship Managers in servicing clients with complex needs. The position requires banking experience, strong organizational skills and a high level of service orientation.

Tasks

  • Client Administration and Management:
    • Ensures that operational account management is carried out professionally, with all tasks/system alerts cleared immediately where possible
    • Supports the Relationship Manager (RM) and team in all aspects of customer interaction, with high quality, accuracy and timely response
    • Interacts with clients in an independent and professional manner in all aspects of account management
    • Ensures that accurate and high quality customer relationship documentation formalities are met and maintained to a high standard
    • Keeps customer master data up to date in coordination with the RM to ensure data is accurate for good maintenance of the relationship
  • Business Management:
    • Organizes and follows up on client meetings, including logistics and document preparation, on own initiative
    • Supports the RM in investigations and troubleshooting, maintains close internal cooperation with other teams/departments
    • Manages internal projects that impact an RM's client relationships, directly resolves administrative issues that arise and ensures all relevant systems are maintained and updated and all required documentation is collected
    • Provides professional input for improvement suggestions based on experience, incidents or market trends
  • Other:
    • Adheres to compliance, legal guidelines, internal rules, regulations and policies at all times, with action, review and sign-off in conjunction with the respective RMs and Group Head
    • Is a first line of defense against risk by raising concerns, independently tracking issues and escalating when in doubt
    • Documents appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, care and diligence, fair treatment (fair treatment of clients), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

Education and experience

  • Relevant work experience as an Assistant Relationship Manager or 3 years of experience as an ARM together with a job-related university degree (e.g. Bachelor, CFA or similar), without counting education time
  • Successful completion of the internal ARM training program
  • Proven experience in serving banking clients with complex needs (onboarding new clients, maintaining and expanding existing relationships)

Professional skills

  • Advanced knowledge of financial markets: structure, function and legal/regulatory environment as well as industry awareness
  • Solid affinity with the geographical markets covered
  • Advanced understanding of relevant products and services applicable to EAM clients and valuation principles
  • Strong language skills in English (written and oral) and preferably in Business Mandarin
