Senior Account Manager, Private Banking, Middle East & Africa, Geneva, Full-time (f/m/d)
Julius Bär Group AG is seeking an Account Manager Lead for Private Banking in the Middle East & Africa division in Geneva, who will serve as a team leader and manage relationships with clients and relationship managers. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as an Assistant Relationship Manager, as well as excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of private banking products and services.
Tasks
- Leading the team of Assistant Relationship Managers, including coaching, day-to-day support, and all related administrative tasks
- Proactive support for relationship managers in maintaining customer relationships and handling all related tasks
- Attending client meetings and managing specific aspects of them (e.g., documentation requirements, compliance, and other inquiries)
- Actively ensure that operational account management is carried out professionally, with all tasks and system alerts addressed directly whenever possible, or through the Relationship Manager
- Ensuring that accurate and high-quality customer relationship documentation procedures are followed and maintained to a high standard, including customer identification documentation (CIB) and account opening forms
- Processing customer requests, such as payments, loans, and foreign exchange and securities transactions; opening and closing accounts; maintaining accounts; updating the customer database
- Ensuring that customers’ KYC documentation (e.g., annual account reviews and new account openings) is prepared and updated in consultation with the relationship managers
- Special focus on AML, monitoring, and regulatory notifications (consultation process, CRM)
- Covering for colleagues on the team and relationship managers during their absences
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as an Assistant Relationship Manager, or 3 years of experience as an Assistant Relationship Manager plus a relevant higher education degree (e.g., bachelor’s degree, CFA/AZEK/CAA), excluding the apprenticeship period
- English is absolutely required; French is a plus
- Leadership experience is a plus
- Proven experience in serving bank clients with complex needs (onboarding new clients, maintaining and expanding existing relationships)
- Successful completion of the internal AMB training program
- A strong understanding of the market, including familiarity with the legal and regulatory environment as well as cultural sensitivity
- A deep understanding of the relevant products, services, and tools in private banking, as well as a solid knowledge of global financial markets and current industry trends
- Excellent adaptability to different situations (able to work with relationship managers and clients from diverse backgrounds)
- Friendly, trustworthy and discreet personality with high risk awareness
- A proactive and independent approach to work, as well as taking on additional responsibilities on one’s own initiative
- Highly service-oriented and passionate about customer service, with exceptional communication skills, and always friendly, courteous, and professional in their interactions
- High personal integrity and ethical conduct
