Private Banking Account Manager for Central and Eastern Europe

Julius Baer Bank is seeking a Private Banking Account Manager for the Central and Eastern European (CEE) market, who will be responsible for managing client accounts and handling banking transactions. The ideal candidate has 4–5 years of experience as an Assistant Relationship Manager at a bank and holds a college degree in business or finance.

Tasks

  • Ensures that accurate and high-quality client relationship documentation procedures are followed and maintained to the highest standards, including client identification documents (CIDs), account opening forms, and other legal forms
  • Ensure that day-to-day account management is handled professionally, with all tasks and system alerts resolved directly whenever possible, or through the Relationship Manager (RM) when investment-related advice is required
  • Attend client meetings and occasionally lead portions of the meeting (e.g., documentation formalities, compliance, other client inquiries) when cases permit
  • Proactively maintain key client data in consultation with the Account Manager to ensure that the CRM and other records are accurate, thereby fostering strong client relationships
  • Independent and professional interaction with clients in all aspects of account management
  • Proactively support the RM/TH in client relationships and all related tasks (systems, applications, processes, documents, etc.) with a high level of quality, precision, and responsiveness
  • Ensuring operational coverage and client interaction (non-advisory) within the team during the absence
  • Preparation of presentations, independent development of investment proposals, and support for marketing activities
  • Creation and provision of customized information, reports, and statistics for clients
  • Managing RM(s)/TH(s); maintaining contacts, preparing for client meetings, organizing business trips, and following up on client calls, meetings, or business trips on one’s own initiative

Business Management

  • Managing internal projects related to an RM’s client relationships, directly resolving administrative issues as they arise, and ensuring that all relevant systems are maintained and updated and that all necessary documents are collected
  • Collecting and sharing relevant information, ideas, insights, and research findings with colleagues to improve processes and boost productivity and quality

Risk management & controls

  • Active support for risk management (first line of defense), e.g., in client documentation, by raising concerns, independently tracking issues, and escalating matters when uncertainty arises
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal policies and standards (e.g., opening new accounts, issuing account instructions, reviewing client phone calls, or signing off on matters within one’s own authority, etc.) in collaboration with the respective relationship managers (RMs) and transaction managers (THs)
  • Ensuring that outstanding issues and escalated defects are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensuring appropriate ethical and compliant behavior within one's own area of responsibility
  • Ensuring that client interactions and client orders are documented accurately, in a measurable manner, and in a way that is easy to understand in the relevant tools (e.g., CRM, DAS)

Requirements

  • Business education and a job-related advanced degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree, CFA/AZBEK/CAIA)
