Private Banking Account Manager for Central and Eastern Europe

Julius Baer Bank is seeking a Private Banking Account Manager for the Central and Eastern European (CEE) market, who will be responsible for managing client accounts and supporting relationship managers. The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of experience in banking and a college degree, as well as strong organizational skills and fluency in English.

Tasks

  • Ensures that accurate and high-quality client relationship documentation is formalized and maintained to the highest standards, including client identification documents (CIDs), account opening forms, and other legal forms
  • Actively manages day-to-day account administration, handling all tasks and system alerts directly whenever possible, or through the Relationship Manager (RM) when investment-related advice is required
  • Attends client meetings as needed and leads portions of the meeting (e.g., documentation formalities, compliance, other client inquiries) when cases permit
  • Actively maintains client key data in consultation with the RM to ensure that CRM and other records are accurate in order to maintain good relationships.
  • Interact with clients in an independent and professional manner in all aspects of account management
  • Proactively supports the RM in assisting the RM/TH with client relations and all related tasks (systems, applications, processes, documents, etc.) with a high level of quality, precision, and responsiveness
  • Ensures operational coverage and client interaction (non-advisory) within the team during the absence
  • Creates presentations, prepares independent investment proposals, and assists with marketing activities
  • Creates and provides clients with customized information, reports, and statistics
  • Manages the RM/TH calendar, prepares for client meetings, organizes business trips, and handles the follow-up on client calls, client meetings, or business trips for RMs/THs on their own initiative

management

  • Manages internal projects related to an RM’s client relationships, resolves administrative issues directly, and ensures that relevant systems are maintained and updated and that all necessary documents are collected
  • Collect and share relevant information, ideas, insights, and research findings with colleagues to improve processes and boost productivity and quality

Risk management & controls

  • Actively assists with risk management (supporting the first line of defense), for example, in client documentation, by raising concerns, addressing issues independently, and escalating them when in doubt
  • Ensures compliance with local regulations and internal policies and standards (e.g., opening new accounts, maintaining accounts, reviewing client phone calls, or signing off on matters within one’s own authority, etc.) in collaboration with the respective relationship managers (RMs) and account managers (THs)
  • Ensures timely clarification of outstanding issues and escalated defects
  • Ensures appropriate and ethical conduct within their area of responsibility
  • Ensures accurate, measurable, and clear documentation of client interactions and client orders in the relevant tools (e.g., CRM, DAS)

Requirements

  • Business education and a job-related advanced degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree, CFA/AZΕΚ/CAIA)
  • 4–5 years of professional experience as an Assistant Relationship Manager at a bank
