Private Banking Account Manager for Central and Eastern Europe

The Private Banking Account Manager for the Central and Eastern European (CEE) market is responsible for managing client accounts and handling document and process administration. The position requires experience in banking, particularly in private banking, as well as strong organizational skills and a strong commitment to customer service.

Tasks

  • Ensures that accurate and high-quality client relationship documentation is prepared and maintained to a high standard at all times, including client identification documents (CIDs), account opening forms, and other legal forms
  • Actively ensures that operational account management is handled professionally, with all tasks and system alerts resolved directly whenever possible, or through the relationship manager if investment-related advice is needed
  • Where appropriate, participates in client meetings and even leads parts of the meeting (e.g., documentation formalities, compliance, other client requests) if the situation permits
  • Actively maintains client key data in liaison with the RM to ensure CRM and other data sets are correct for good maintenance of the relationship
  • Interacts with clients in an independent and professional manner in all aspects of account management
  • Proactively takes the lead in supporting the RM/TH in client relations and all related tasks (systems, applications, processes, documents, etc.), ensuring high quality, precision, and timely responsiveness
  • Ensures operational coverage and client interaction (not involving advice) within the team during absences
  • Prepares presentations, independently drafts investment proposals, and assists with marketing activities
  • Creates and provides clients with customized information, reports, statistics, etc.
  • Manages the RM/TH calendar, prepares for client meetings, organizes business trips, and independently handles the follow-up work related to client calls, client meetings, or business trips for RMs/THs

Business Management

  • Manages internal projects that affect a relationship manager’s client relationships, directly resolving any administrative issues that arise, ensuring that all relevant systems are maintained and updated, and collecting all necessary documentation
  • Collects and shares relevant information, ideas, findings, and research with colleagues to improve processes and increase productivity and quality

Risk management & controls

  • Actively helps manage risk (by supporting the first line of defense), for example in client documentation, by raising concerns, following up on issues independently, and escalating them when in doubt
  • Ensures adherence to local regulations and compliance with internal policies and standards (e.g., opening new accounts, account maintenance, client phone calls, or approving matters within their own area of responsibility, etc.) in collaboration with the respective relationship managers and TH
  • Ensures that pending items and escalated issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensures appropriate ethical and compliant behavior within his or her area of responsibility
  • Ensures accurate, measurable, and clear documentation of client interactions and client orders in the relevant systems (e.g., CRM, DAS)

Requirements

  • Commercial apprenticeship and a job-related advanced degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree, CFA/AZΕΚ/CAIA)
  • 4–5 years of work experience as an Assistant Relationship Manager at a bank
  • Proven track record in serving banking clients with complex needs (onboarding new clients, maintaining and expanding existing relationships)
  • Several years of experience in compliance matters and is familiar with current regulations and KYC-related requirements
  • Be proficient in using Microsoft Office for preparing presentations and spreadsheets
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required; knowledge of German and Russian is a plus
  • Service-oriented, curious, and responsible
  • Friendly and open personality, with a well-groomed and professional appearance
  • Able to work independently, well-organized, quick and accurate even under pressure
