Account Manager Private Banking - NRI Switzerland

The Private Banking Account Manager at Julius Baer in Zurich is responsible for managing client accounts and supporting relationship managers, though the role does not involve direct client contact. The position requires a combination of administrative, business management, and risk management tasks.

Tasks

  • Ensures that accurate and high-quality client relationship documentation is maintained to a high standard at all times, including client identification documentation (CID), account openings, reviews, and account closure requests, in accordance with internal guidelines
  • Actively ensures that operational account management is carried out professionally, with all tasks and system alerts reviewed directly whenever possible or through the relationship manager if investment-related advice is needed
  • Whenever appropriate, a draft of the client meeting and event report is reviewed, and certain aspects of the meeting (e.g., documentation requirements, compliance, and other client requests) are also checked
  • Actively maintains key data in accordance with the RM to ensure that CRM and other data sets are accurate, thereby supporting effective relationship management
  • Interacts with clients in an independent and professional manner in all aspects of account management
  • Proactively takes the lead in supporting the RM's in client relationships and all related tasks (systems, applications, processes, documents, etc.), ensuring high quality, precision, and timely responsiveness

Business Management

  • Manages the internal processes that affect a relationship manager’s client relationships, directly resolving any administrative issues that arise, and ensuring that all relevant systems are maintained and updated and that all necessary data and documentation are collected
  • Collects and shares relevant information, ideas, findings, and research with colleagues to improve processes and increase productivity and quality

Risk management & controls

  • Actively helps manage risk (first line of defense), such as by maintaining client documentation, raising concerns, following up on issues independently, and taking proactive action when in doubt
  • Ensures adherence to local regulations and compliance with internal policies and standards (e.g., opening new accounts, conducting account reviews, handling client phone calls, or determining the appropriate level of detail) in collaboration with the respective relationship managers and escalates issues efficiently
  • Ensures that pending issues and escalated deficiencies are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensures appropriate ethical and compliant behavior in positions of greater responsibility
  • Ensures that client interactions and client orders are documented accurately, clearly, and comprehensively in the relevant systems (e.g., CRM, GDIS)
