Accountant, Fund Administration

The Accountant in Fund Administration will assist in the review of fund financial reports and liquidation of fund entities to ensure accurate and complete delivery of the team. The focus is on monitoring financial reports and administrative processes within the fund administration function.

About the role

The Fund Administration team consists of several focused sub-teams that support the operational governance of Man Group's $83.5bn AUM. The Fund Administration team performs daily fund administration reviews, service provider management & governance, close-to-close/lifecycle of fund entities and oversight of third party trading agency activities.

Tasks

  • Review draft fund financial statements for accuracy, consistency and completeness in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Coordinate the production of financial reports and account monitoring, including reporting & audit schedules, accounting of financial transactions and monitoring the status of audits to ensure figures are met.
  • Support the end-to-end close and liquidation process to ensure that Man Group entities are transferred to the next accounting period.
  • Work on identifying and streamlining regulatory and legislative obligations across all entities, identifying inconsistencies and weaknesses where changes may be required.
  • Generalize the close action process, working with teams to identify data that supports opportunities to enhance and facilitate business processes for critical and non-critical items.

Requirements

Technical skills

  • Must have accounting experience.
  • Experience of systems, processes and controls; ideally within fund administration or similar financial environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high quality draft financial reports.
  • Strong analytical skills with a fundamental understanding of a financial environment.
  • Compliance with financial reports and regulatory requirements.
  • Interested in financial markets and motivated to build a long-term career in the industry.
