Job description: Accountant, Fund Administration
About the role
The Fund Administration team consists of several focused sub-teams that support the operational governance of Man Group's $83.6 billion of assets under administration. The team performs investment operations including fund accounting, financial reporting, service provider management and governance, closure/dissolution/liquidation of fund units and oversight of transfer agency activities performed by third parties.
Tasks
- Reviewing draft and final financial reports for accuracy, consistency and completeness in accordance with the relevant reporting standards
- Coordinate financial report production and account monitoring, including reporting and audit schedules, reconciliation of financial reports and preparation of audit schedules to ensure schedules are met, monitor status of audits to ensure audit deliverables are met
- Support for the end-to-end fund closure and liquidation process, management of fund units according to NAV (net asset value) up to pre-liquidation (closure)
- Work to identify and resolve issues with unit setup, maintenance and related data to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
- Generalizing the close process, working with teams to identify data that supports opportunities to develop solutions for capital return, and supporting business decisions on capital return
Requirements
Technical skills
- Must have experience in accounting
- Experience in the preparation of financial reports, financial statements, audits or tax returns or technical review of draft financial reports
- Strong analytical skills in finance, accounting or a numerical discipline
- Proven ability to work with quality in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of accounting and valuation of financial instruments
- Experience in investment management and controlling; ideally experience or technical understanding of ENAV
- Interest in the financial markets and motivation to build a long-term career in the industry
