Agile Coach, Principal

As an Agile Coach (Principal) at Northern Trust, you will support the adoption of agile practices and drive a high performing culture to continuously improve the delivery of business value. You will be a change agent supporting the organization in implementing SAFe principles and optimizing portfolio management.

Job description: Agile Coach, Principal

Tasks

  • Facilitates the adoption of transformational change through the design, teaching and consulting of an agile/DevOps mindset
  • Serves as a thought leader for best practices, methods, tools and success criteria
  • Leads teams on best practices for ADO boards: Initiative/Epic/Feature roadmaps, sprint planning, SRE principles, Azure DevOps (ADO) boards configuration and training expertise to drive collaboration, transparency and efficiency at the portfolio, ART and team level
  • Facilitates quarterly PI planning, Inspect and Adapt workshops and other key ART events to ensure alignment and coordinated delivery
  • Provides strategic guidance for the development and improvement of program and portfolio prioritization, value stream delivery and progress/outcome measurement through ADO and Power BI dashboards
  • Oversees project management governance for our organization and provides guidance to ensure alignment with agile values and organizational standards
  • Works with PMO teams to continuously improve tooling, reporting and governance frameworks
  • Advises technology, business, product and operations partners to identify and address barriers to team productivity and effectiveness
  • Creates and conducts training and workshops to promote agile maturity in the organization, with a particular focus on the maturity of the Product Owner role
  • Contributes to communities of practice and cooperates with departmental agile champions to promote organizational agility

Requirements

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in agile software delivery, with at least 3+ years as an Agile Coach and/or RTE in a medium to large sized organization
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards required; knowledge of Clarity PPM, ServiceNow SAFe principles; Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards configuration is considered an advantage
