AIX System Engineer

Your role

As an AIX Systems Engineer at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will strengthen our platform team as a skilled and experienced engineer, ensuring the maintenance, optimization, and modernization of our corporate infrastructure in AIX and Linux environments.

Your tasks

• Design, implementation, and maintenance of AIX-based enterprise systems, including LPARs, VIO, NIM, and HMC/IVM
• Operation, maintenance, and expansion of Linux and Unix systems and their underlying infrastructure (storage, hardware, and networking)
• Collaborating on the design and implementation of projects, as well as the further development and optimization of existing infrastructure
• Provision of second-level support within the existing support organization, including on-call duty
• Ensuring compliance with security policies, backup strategies, and change management procedures
• Demonstrated expertise in using Ansible to automate daily tasks

Your profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
• 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM AIX (versions 7.1/7.2/7.3)
• Experience with enterprise storage (SAN, NFS, GPFS) and virtualization (PowerVM)
• Initial relevant professional experience in LPAR/VIO management
• 3+ years of experience in Linux administration (RHEL preferred) and strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ansible)
• Experience with ITIL methodologies
• Fluent English; fluency in German is a plus
• Willingness to travel (~5–10%)
• Ability to assess problems and set priorities, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to take on responsibility and ability to work under pressure
