AIX System Engineer

Your role

As an AIX Systems Engineer at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will join our platform team as a skilled and experienced engineer and be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and modernizing our corporate infrastructure in AIX and Linux environments.

Your tasks

- Design, implementation, and maintenance of AIX-based enterprise systems, including LPARs, VIO, NIM, and HMC/IVM - Operation, maintenance, and expansion of Linux and Unix systems and their underlying infrastructure (storage, hardware, and networking) - Collaboration on the design and implementation of projects, as well as the further development and optimization of existing infrastructure - Provision of second-level support within the existing support organization, including on-call duty - Ensuring compliance with security policies, backup strategies, and change management procedures - Demonstrated expertise in working with Ansible to automate daily tasks

Your profile

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science - 5 years of practical experience with IBM AIX (versions 7.1/7.2/7.3) - Experience with enterprise storage (SAN, NFS, GPFS) and virtualization (PowerVM) - Initial relevant professional experience in LPAR/VIO management - 3+ years of experience in Linux administration (RHEL preferred) and strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ansible) - Experience with ITIL methodologies - Fluent in English; Fluency in German is a plus - Willingness to travel (~5-10%) - Ability to assess problems and set priorities, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Willingness to take on responsibility and ability to work under pressure
