Aladdin Operations - Assistant Vice President
The position of Assistant Vice President at Aladdin Operations in Bangalore involves leading a team that supports a premier global investment management client and includes a variety of operational and managerial tasks. The incumbent is responsible for end-to-end service delivery and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Description
In this role, you will work with State Street teams from around the world to lead a team that supports a premier global investment management client. You will have leadership responsibility for overseeing the team's end-to-end transaction responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic, and exciting environment.Tasks
The tasks include:- Management of the relevant team at various locations for responsible customers
- Responsibility for end-to-end lifecycle delivery, including trade recording, confirmation, settlement support, reconciliation, and corporate actions
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing across all asset classes
- Sources of trading input, lifecycle events, and post-trade analytics with custodians and brokers
- Serving as the primary contact for daily operations, incident management, and SLAs
- Leadership as senior operational manager for global customers and internal stakeholders
- Delivery of regular service reports, governance reviews, and support with customer evaluations
- Leading strategic initiatives such as customer onboarding, fee inquiries, and transitions
- Design and implementation of root cause analyses and implementation of recommendations for continuous improvement
- Ensuring compliance with control standards, regulatory requirements, and audit/regulatory processes
- Proactive identification of risk areas, performance of root cause analyses, and improvement of remediation plans
- Lead business continuity and resilience efforts in coordination with other functional areas and partners
- Identification and implementation of process improvements and automation opportunities
- Collaborate with technology, product, and transformation teams on system improvements and tool upgrades
- Effective communication of issues to customers and management to ensure proper and timely follow-up
Requirements
The requirements include:- Strong knowledge of the trade lifecycle, reconciliations, and settlements
- Understanding of the investment management industry gained through working in a similar middle office or investment management role
- Strong critical thinking skills, problem solving, and proactive attitude
- Customer-focused approach to managing, prioritizing, and delivering operations and services
- Strong communication and presentation skills for different audiences and seniority levels
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks
- Commercial knowledge - Experience in managing and delivering front and back office operations
- Ability to drive performance and foster a culture of performance differentiation within teams
- Understanding the risk and control environment in a SOC 2 environment and the desire to embed a culture of risk excellence within teams
- Leadership skills, influential leadership, and effective communication across stakeholder groups
