Alantia Iberia FIG M&A Vice President (Madrid, Spain)

Alantia is seeking a Vice President for M&A in the financial services sector (FIG) in Madrid who will be actively involved in executing mandates, financial modeling, and advising clients. The candidate will also be expected to mentor junior staff, identify new business opportunities, and possess strong financial expertise as well as fluency in English and Spanish.

Job Description

  • Based in Madrid, you will work in a highly entrepreneurial and inspiring environment as part of our FIG team, specifically in the M&A division.

Responsibilities

  • Playing a central role in the execution and management of active mandates, from the initial contact through to the completion of projects; reporting on financial matters to senior management; working with the support of senior and junior team members; and overseeing the transformation and supervision of financial models.
  • Serving as an advisor and a key point of contact for investee companies and portfolio companies.
  • Overseeing and managing the execution and administration of a specific mandate, from deal origination to the final closing of the transaction.
  • Working closely with other teams, such as credit restructuring, mezzanine, and investment banking.
  • Following up on projects from the pitch phase through to closing; identifying marketing ideas and alternative solutions, and making them central to the clients' decision-making process.
  • A team player with strengths in business development, including identifying opportunities, pitching to corporate executives, and maintaining direct contact with investors to find the right financing solution for any given situation.
  • The ability to identify and anticipate clients' needs, and to plan for both their own and the team's priorities.
  • Identifying and organizing junior staff to meet and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Demonstrating a commercial mindset and the ability to propose ideas to clients based on the potential for future business for the firm.
  • Serve as a role model for junior team members through ongoing coaching and team challenges, and help them grow and take on greater responsibility.
  • Maintaining close contact with clients and placing their perspective at the center of project management and resolution.

Requirements

  • Excellent financial knowledge (accounting and company valuation) and an understanding of financial statements.
  • High technical skills; the ability to independently process large amounts of complex information.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to contribute your own ideas and work independently.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency (both written and spoken) in English and Spanish is a mandatory requirement.
  • A committed, rigorous, and detail-oriented approach, combined with the ability to take initiative and make decisions.
  • The highest standards of personal conduct, professional performance, and business ethics.
  • Complete fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
