Algo Developer - Associate / Vice President

As an Algo Developer at Nomura in London, you will develop new features and optimizations for algorithmic trading systems as part of the Global Execution Services team. The role involves participating in the entire project lifecycle, providing technical support, and collaborating closely with business and development teams while adhering to architectural strategies and compliance requirements.

Key objectives critical to success

  • Deliver new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for our algorithmic trading
  • Participate in the entire project life cycle, including technical analysis and design
  • Occasionally provide Level 2 and 3 support for front-office applications
  • Ensure adherence to the functional architecture strategy and compliance
  • Liaise with the business and development teams regarding projects
  • If necessary, assist in managing projects for the implementation of new systems

Requirements

  • Experience with distributed systems and message-oriented architecture
  • Understanding of—and, ideally, hands-on experience with—event-driven systems
  • Experience working with financial markets and an understanding of local market-specific requirements
  • Good knowledge of networks, TCP/IP, and enterprise messaging solutions
