Alternative Ops Fund Accounting, Senior Associate

The Senior Associate for Fund Accounting is responsible for the day-to-day management of the team and oversight of fund accounting processes to achieve the business unit's objectives. The focus is on monitoring processes, resolving issues, and communicating with colleagues and senior management.

Job description

Tasks

  • Management of daily operations and monitoring of workflow
  • Expert review of 5 processes, including:
    • bookkeeping
    • bank reconciliation
    • Financial reports (balance sheet, income statement) / Investment schedule / Partner capital account reports and other required financial reports
    • Calculation (capital call/distribution allocation, management fee calculation, NAV, and waterfall)
    • Customer service (audit confirmation, questions, LP reports, etc.)
  • Professional problem solving and support for junior colleagues
  • Communication with the home office
  • Monitoring delivery times and ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Flexible distribution of work within the team
  • Updating and maintaining procedures for all tasks/activities
  • Collaborate with the manager to ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed
  • Taking responsibility for all assigned tasks and solving complex problems
  • Escalation of problems as needed
  • Building relationships with other departments and achieving business goals
  • Supporting the manager with inquiries related to the daily operating model
  • Coordinating on-the-job training for employees and supporting managers in personnel development and succession planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial services, fund accounting, and/or back-office environment
  • Experience in a large auditing firm, fund management company, or similar environment is an advantage.
  • Very good English skills, both spoken and written
  • Strong time management skills and prioritization under pressure
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, logical thinking, strong learning ability, sense of responsibility, and teamwork
  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • Effective communication, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, creative, and efficient in solving complex problems
