AML Monitoring Compliance Officer
EFG International is seeking a Compliance Officer for its AML Transaction Monitoring department in Geneva, Lugano, or Zurich to analyze and prevent suspicious transactions. The position involves monitoring transactions, identifying suspicious behavior, and collaborating with other units.
Job description
Tasks
- Main tasks are related to transaction monitoring
- Analysis of high-risk transactions
- Identification of suspicious behavior
- Management of alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system
- Tracking the escalation process for transaction monitoring alerts
- Recording the results of analyses and/or the escalation process in systems and tools
- Carrying out in-depth analyses of transaction patterns
- Escalation of highly sensitive and/or urgent cases to the head of AML monitoring
- Creation of analysis reports
- Support in escalating potentially suspicious matches to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)
- Presentation of cases with other compliance units (including Group Compliance) and with E1OD teams (First Line of Defense)
- Updating systems and tools
- Collaboration with other compliance units (including Group Compliance) and with E1OD teams (First Line of Defense)
- Preparation and implementation of training courses and workshops on transaction monitoring
- Preparation and ensuring proper handover to backup
- Analysis and approval of transactions on accounts that are blocked for AML reasons (overrides)
- Management of third-party inquiries
- Analysis and approval of cash investment requests from FLOD
- Management of inquiries from correspondent banks – communication with FLOD, collection and control of information; provision of responses within the deadline
- Managing requests from the public prosecutor's office, MRCOs, and other authorities – collecting and checking information, preparing files, providing responses within the deadline
- AML questionnaires
- Management of requests for AML/KYC questionnaires from EFG Bank AG counterparties within the deadline
- Coordination with other departments to gather necessary information and approvals
- Analysis and verification of the accuracy and sequence of documentation to be provided
- Taking action in the event of expired and/or inaccurate documentation
- Management of AML letters and comfort letters by preparing texts and collecting approvals and signatures
- Adaptation of responses to the legal system of the counterparties
- Communication with counterparties to find new solutions for inquiries
- Ensuring the functionality of the website for counterparties
- Review of questionnaires and documentation received from financial institutions
- Updating lists of activities for internal organization
- Support during transfer to backup
- Special tasks:
- Upon request and after training, backup for name screening activities can be provided.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in combating financial crime; longer experience is an advantage
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken); knowledge of German, French, and/or Italian is an advantage
- CAS in Compliance and/or other specialized certificates are an advantage
- Knowledge of SAS anti-money laundering software is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of the Swiss anti-money laundering regulatory framework
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
