Job profile
This role provides comprehensive operational services across all of Man Group's Investment Management units. Day to day responsibilities include ensuring that the investment book and counterparty records are maintained, timely confirmation and settlement of securities trades whilst managing reconciliation errors between the firm's systems. The focus is on continuous process improvement to improve scalability across our systems and technology to ensure our systems perform and support our growth.
Tasks
- Monitoring and clarification of all unconfirmed and missing transactions
- Ensuring the accuracy and control of investment processes for all trade confirmations
- Manage trade confirmations, event processing and reference data retention to ensure accurate representation of trades, positions, cash and profit/loss
- Collaborate with technology teams to deliver solutions
- Regular presentation of key performance metrics for the company
- Collaboration with other operations teams to provide product knowledge
- Contribution to the implementation and further development of processes in a controlled environment
- Acts as a central point of contact for all internal counterparties
- Acts as subject matter expert for all equities and bonds at Man Group
- Contribution to the control and monitoring of credit derivative transactions
- Investigation and clarification of cash settlements in connection with securities financing transactions
- Continuous review and improvement of the team's operating processes
- Improvement of STP rates with our custodian banks and prime brokers
- Communicate with global technology and operations colleagues on various strategic initiatives to provide efficiencies for process and technology build out
- Maintain compliance standards and regulatory data development to ensure impacts are managed appropriately
Requirements
Technical skills
- A university degree is expected, preferably
- Knowledge of investment management, investment banking or securities; experience in middle office functions such as system implementation, data quality
- Experience with P/C/IDMS, risk, reconciliations and/or settlements
- Understanding of equity and bond products
- Ability to analyze data, identify and understand root causes and complex problems
- Strong analytical skills to understand a wide range of products and complex end-to-end workflows
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Digital skills with the ability to learn new systems
- Reliable work ethic
