Analyst

Purpose of the role

Conduct market research, assist in the analysis of new investments, and assist in the monitoring and day-to-day management of existing investments.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analyzing research materials on companies, industry sectors, and economic trends.
• Gathering market information through conversations and meetings with brokers and company representatives.
• Reviewing news articles and developing research ideas to generate trading ideas for asset managers.
• Running models in the financial sector to provide asset managers with recommendations on which securities to invest in, as well as the terms and limits of such investments.
• Backtesting of trading strategies and development of valuation models upon request.
• Sending research updates to asset managers upon request.
• Recording, verifying, and cross-checking information from financial models and broker data.
• Printing and preparing research results for analysis, conducting ad hoc queries related to meeting notes, models, and performance, and participating in team meetings.
• Monitoring and optimizing chat system inputs and processes.
• Monitor and summarize market data, news, and reporting channels, including the FT and Bloomberg.
• MCI, news and distribution of market data upon request.
• Compiling the latest survey results and peer group reports and distributing them to the team.

Skills and Experience

• Actively invests in the following strategies: relative value trading, SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies).
• Proven ability to work with options.
• 3+ years of direct industry experience.
• The candidate should have an advanced understanding of prime brokerage platforms and how to optimize them.
• The candidate should have experience managing funds in UCITS and offshore structures.
• The candidate should have received several industry awards.
