Analyst
The analyst at Man Group in London supports the investment team in analyzing markets and companies, monitors existing investments, and generates trading ideas for asset managers. The role requires excellent Excel and programming skills, an analytical mindset, and strong communication skills.
Job Profile Summary
Conduct market research, assist in the analysis of new investments, and assist in the monitoring and day-to-day management of existing investments.Responsibilities
- Reviewing and analyzing research materials received on companies, industry sectors, and economic trends
- Gathering market information by speaking with and meeting brokers and company representatives, coordinating with other teams, and reviewing research to generate trading ideas for the asset managers
- Running models on the financial sector and providing recommendations to asset managers on which stocks they should invest in, both in the short and long term
- Backtesting trading strategies and preparing valuation models as requested
- Sending regular research updates to asset managers
- Receiving, reviewing, and cross-checking information from financial models and brokers
- Printing and preparing research materials for analysts, handling ad hoc requests regarding meeting notes, models, news reports, and the filing and retrieval of research materials
- Encourage the use of and monitor input from the chat system during team meetings
- Managing and overseeing print subscriptions to research publications and news sources, including the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal, and evaluating and distributing reports as requested
- Circulating any current survey reports and other group reports and distributing them to the team
