Analyst
Man Group is seeking an experienced analyst to support the U.S. Residential Debt team in its direct lending strategy. The analyst will be responsible for assisting with the origination, valuation, and portfolio management of residential real estate loans.
Purpose of the role
Man Group’s U.S. Residential Debt Team is seeking an experienced analyst to support our multi-focused direct lending strategy. This role will report directly to the Vice President and support origination, servicing, and asset management functions across the entire capital stack. The team focuses on bridge and construction loans across various types of residential real estate, including but not limited to: land, industrial, office, multifamily, condominiums, single-family rental homes, rental apartments, and residential renovations, with individual loans typically ranging from $20 million to $500 million.Specific responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a key contributor throughout the entire deal lifecycle and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. As a member of the Man Group US Residential Debt team, this person will collaborate closely with the team’s other investment strategies.Support and Analysis
- Assistance with evaluating potential credit arrangements, including a detailed analysis of the creditworthiness of borrowers/sponsors, the feasibility of the business plan, capital structures, exit strategies and exit financial model performance, cash flow analysis, and projections of subscription plans
- Analysis and maintenance of standardized financial models that include cash flows, leverage, coverage ratios, sensitivity scenarios, and risk-adjusted return analysis
- Preparation and presentation of comprehensive financial committee materials that clearly outline the deal thesis, key risks and return profiles, and relative value
Source and Origin Tracking Support
- Assistance in managing and maintaining relationships with borrowers, sponsors, brokers, co-lenders, attorneys, government agencies, and other investors
- Sources of new investment opportunities, including sources of new leads
- Participate in the early stages of deal screening to identify and evaluate new investment opportunities that align with the team's strategy
- Contribution to initial research and competitive landscape analysis to support sourcing and pricing decisions
- Preparing and maintaining weekly pipeline materials
Due Diligence and Execution
- Management and coordination of due diligence workflows, including borrower assessment, property valuation, environmental assessment, and review of loan documents
- Assistance with structuring and closing investments, including preparing term sheets, reviewing legal documents, and conducting commercial negotiations
