Analyst, Residential Debt
The Residential Debt Analyst supports the team in managing residential real estate loans, credit facilities, and other investment assets, as well as monitoring credit risks and workout activities. The focus is on analyzing and monitoring residential real estate loans and supporting the management of credit facilities.
Job description: Analyst, Residential Debt
Tasks
- Monitoring daily operations of residential mortgage loans, including construction disbursements and servicer onboarding
- Management of credit facilities, including calculation of credit basis and fees, financing applications, servicer reporting, reconciliation, and monitoring of financial obligations
- Practical analysis and monitoring of performance indicators to identify and mitigate credit deterioration
- Support with loss mitigation measures, including borrower outreach, structuring of foreclosure plans, documentation of foreclosures, REO disposition, while managing direct bankruptcies
- Managing larger, more complex restructurings and providing relevant market research and data to senior investment professionals and management
- Coordination with multiple internal teams, including legal, finance, risk, operations, and technology
- Proactively monitor and track the transfer of collateral documents to multiple custodians and work closely with counterparties to resolve exceptions and collect related documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, economics, mathematics/physics, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in previous real estate financing (generally residential construction), with a focus on asset management, credit services, special services, credit analysis, or similar functions
- Experience with exposure to the US residential mortgage market (RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, GSE/Ginnie) is a significant advantage.
- Previous experience with restructuring loans and credit facilities is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with real estate markets, valuation methods, and exit strategies for investors
- Experience with systems such as Excel, PowerPoint, and leasing management tools
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders and work proactively on multiple projects independently
- Ability to prioritize within challenging deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a deadline-driven setting
- Positive and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to a rapidly changing platform
- Creative problem solver who is able to effectively summarize problems and communicate them to team members and management
