Analyst. US Middle Office
The Analyst in the US Middle Office at Man Group in Boston, Massachusetts is responsible for operational processes, technical development and collaboration with various teams to support mutual fund performance. The role includes, but is not limited to, reviewing valuations, coordinating NAV calculations, and developing process improvement tools and models.

Overview
The position is located in the Numeric Middle Office Team. The Middle Office team is responsible for security assessment & valuation, net asset calculations, performance & attribution, settlements & post-trade compliance.Tasks
- Reconcile valuations between custodians, prime brokers and internal records of the investment engine, coordinating investigations and/or corrections of breakpoints if required
- Communicate with the Company and Man Group's ("MG") fund accounting team to ensure accurate net asset values ("NAVs") of funds on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, including audited accrued income and expenses
- Collaboration with various internal teams and databases to create reports and analyses
- Support the team in the execution and ongoing functioning & processes according to established procedures
- Reconciliation of trade entries and other available data with our trade database; daily post-trade analysis for internal stakeholders
- Daily coordination with asset managers and monitoring of performance and historical trading analysis
- Assisting in the development and improvement of operational processes specific to AUM funds, including regulatory reporting, daily reconciliations and ongoing compliance tasks
Technical development
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's systems, controls and workflows
- Learning and using programming tools to improve processes and reports
Stakeholder engagement
- Collaborate with team members and other departments on both daily activities and long-term projects
- Clear communication and commitment of recommendations to various stakeholders
Professional development
- Use of training opportunities in technical and financial topics
- Developing an understanding of investment operations, market infrastructure and fund structures
- Active role in identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency

Requirements
Essential skills or qualifications
- We are looking for new talent - such as a recent graduate or with up to one year of work experience
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems
- Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders
- Proven ability to learn new concepts quickly
- Strong numerics: background in a quantitative or analytical field (mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science or data/ analytics-oriented discipline)
- Previous experience in the financial markets and motivation to build a career in the industry
Advantages (not required)
- Previous experience in financial services or accounting roles
- Professional qualifications (CFA, ACCA) or studies
- Python programming (or similar language), SQL or database experience with enthusiasm to develop technical skills
- Familiarity with DSL/Bloomberg or other vendor content systems
