Analyst/Associate, Residential Debt

Man Group is seeking an Analyst or Associate for its Residential Debt team to assist with the analysis and execution of investments in residential mortgage loans. The candidate should have experience in financial analysis, due diligence, and deal execution to ensure portfolio performance.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced analyst or associate to join our residential real estate debt team. The team focuses on the origination and execution of investments in residential mortgages and commercial real estate. The candidate will play a key role in financial analysis, due diligence, and deal execution to ensure portfolio performance.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities include:
  • RTL Underwriting: Support in structuring residential real estate bridge loans (RTL), due diligence at the loan and portfolio levels, detailed review of borrowers, property appraisals, renovation budgets and schedules, leverage ratios, and initial capitalization rates.
  • Financial modeling: Creating and maintaining financial models, performing collateral analyses, cash flow analyses, scenario modeling, and return-on-investment analyses.
  • Sourcing & Origination: Assisting in maintaining relationships with RTL originators/lenders and other market participants, and supporting origination teams across the company.
  • Portfolio Management: Tracking loan and portfolio performance, supporting active portfolio management, leading loan book reviews, and overseeing workout and restructuring measures.
  • Market Research: Develop a deep understanding of the RTL market through research into residential mortgage lending, origination trends, and the competitive landscape to support sourcing and investment decisions.

Requirements

The requirements for this position are:
  • Academic degree (bachelor's degree required).
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in residential real estate lending, RTL origination/underwriting, structured finance, real estate lending, or asset-backed lending.
  • Extensive experience in underwriting RTL and whole loans is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with whole-loan trading or warehouse lending is a plus.
  • Extensive experience and sound judgment in credit and analytical matters.
  • Knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex investment ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $175,000 USD.
