Analyst/Associate. Residential Debt
Man Group is seeking an Analyst or Associate for its Residential Debt team to assist with the analysis and management of residential real estate debt. The candidate will play a key role in financial analysis, due diligence, and deal execution, and will work closely with the portfolio management and asset management teams.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced analyst or associate to join our residential debt team. The team focuses on the origination and management of residential debt investments across the entire capital structure, primarily through direct investments in RLT, as well as other investment opportunities. The candidate will play a key role in financial analysis, due diligence, and deal execution, and will work closely with the portfolio management and asset management teams.Primary Functions & Responsibilities
* RLT Underwriting: Underwriting of residential real estate bridge loans (RTL) and individual loan acquisitions, including detailed review of borrower profiles, property appraisals, budgets and timelines, leverage, and loan pricing. Assistance with reviewing loan applications and assessing credit risks. * Financial Modeling: Creation and maintenance of financial models, conducting collateral reviews, cash flow analyses, scenario modeling, and yield analyses. * Sourcing & Origination: Assistance in cultivating and maintaining relationships with RLT originators/lenders and their brokers across residential real estate debt asset classes. The ideal candidate is comfortable discussing risks, returns, asset class characteristics, and investment drivers. * Portfolio Management: Assisting with due diligence and ongoing monitoring of existing and proposed investments, including preparing loan documentation, reviewing documentation, and monitoring contract terms. Assisting with active portfolio management and workout/restructuring initiatives.Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required. * 1–5 years of relevant experience in residential mortgage lending, RLT, origination/accumulation, structured finance, real estate debt, or asset-backed lending. * Strong experience in RLT underwriting, while knowledge in this area is highly preferred. * Familiarity with whole-loan trading or warehouse lending is a plus. * Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex investment ideas clearly and concisely, are required. * Sufficient knowledge of financial and capital markets and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment. * Proficient in financial analysis and various productivity software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office).We offer
