Analyst/Associate, Residential Debt

Man Group is seeking an Analyst or Associate for its Residential Debt team in New York who has experience in analyzing and managing residential real estate debt and will play a key role in financial analysis, due diligence, and deal execution. The candidate should have a strong understanding of residential real estate financing, lending, and portfolio management.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced analyst or associate to join our residential mortgage lending team. The team focuses on investments in secured real estate assets, including senior secured corporate loans, senior secured real estate loans (RTL), whole-loan sub-underwriting, and distressed-focused opportunistic loans. The candidate will play a key role in financial analysis, due diligence, and deal execution.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

* RTL Underwriting: Underwriting of RTL whole-loan pools and individual loan acquisitions, including detailed review of borrower profiles, property appraisals, and preparation of loan applications and loan memoranda. * Financial Modeling: Creation and maintenance of financial models, conducting collateral reviews, cash flow analyses, scenario modeling, and yield analyses. * Sourcing & Origination: Assisting with the maintenance and monitoring of relationships with RTL originators/aggregators and their loan products. * Due Diligence: Supporting due diligence efforts, including borrower/loan evaluation, collateral analysis, coordination of third-party reports, and preparation of investment documents. * Portfolio Management: Monitoring loan and portfolio performance.

Qualifications

* Master’s degree required. * 1–5 years of relevant experience in residential real estate lending, RTL origination/aggregation, structured finance, real estate lending, or asset-based lending. * Strong experience in underwriting RTL whole loans is highly preferred. * Familiarity with whole-loan trading or warehouse lending is a plus. * Strong knowledge of residential real estate finance, loan underwriting, and portfolio management. * Knowledge of Python is a plus. * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits
