Application Integration Engineer 100% (f/m/d)

Tasks

• Design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable integration solutions using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), including message routing, transformation (ESB/JSON/XML), and orchestration of microservice interactions.
• Installation, administration, and optimization of IBM MQ Queue Managers and the underlying infrastructure; maintenance of queue environments, including automated deployment and disaster recovery.
• Ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience of messaging systems through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Securing integrations via TLS/SSL, token and certificate management, as well as authentication and access control, in accordance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implementation and management of IBM MQ Managed File Transfer (MFT) for automated, secure, and encrypted file exchanges between internal systems and external business partners.
• Conduct root-cause analyses, incident resolution, and system tuning for production issues. Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation and coordinate with cross-functional teams during critical incidents (e.g., AIX, Shell, Python, or Perl).
• Automation of routine operations (e.g., configuration, deployment, monitoring) using scripts or tools (Ansible, Shell, Python, etc.).
• Implementing continuous improvement and change management practices, ensuring that processes, tools, and methodologies are documented and kept up to date.
• Conducting and supporting audits; ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines, including Basel and FINMA/PCI-DSS requirements, as applicable.
• Managing architecture reviews, technology refreshes, and integration with cloud or hybrid solutions; collaborating with infrastructure, security, and application teams.
• Providing documentation, knowledge transfer, and training for operations, development, and compliance teams.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field; ongoing professional development in integration technologies.
• More than 8 years of experience in administering distributed IBM MQ infrastructures, including Queue Manager management, clustering, and high availability.
• More than 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of integration solutions using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) or Linux, as well as in web service development; proficiency in JSON/XML or REST/SOAP architecture, including API integration and design patterns.
• In-depth knowledge of IBM MQ MFT for secure, automated file transfers and automated connectivity to external financial institutions.
• Extensive experience in Linux RHEL/Ubuntu administration, including performance tuning, task scheduling, and log analysis.
• Strong skills in VMware, shell and Python scripting, with in-depth knowledge of Power Automate or Ansible for automation.
• Experience with JMX monitoring and observability using PagerDuty; hands-on expertise in secure cloud or hybrid infrastructure using IBM Cloud, VMware NSX, and F5 Advanced WAF.
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery processes, failover mechanisms, and 24/7 operational support for business-critical messaging systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently and deliver results under pressure in dynamic environments.
• MQ or iSAP App Connect Enterprise certification is highly desirable.
