Application Integration Engineer 100% (f/m/d)

The Application Integration Engineer at Julius Baer in Zurich is responsible for the development, implementation, and operation of FIX integrations and order-trade flows on the financial news infrastructure. The role includes configuring FIX sessions, assisting with client onboarding processes, and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure stable operations.

Tasks

  • Configuring FIX sessions, protocol parameters, and connectivity for clients, brokers, counterparties, exchanges, and/or trading venues
  • Development and maintenance of message flows within the existing middleware architecture
  • Design, coordination, and administration of FIX certification tests for onboarding clients and brokerages
  • Support for project requests from the Markets Front Office, Trading, Operations, and Control departments
  • Analysis of new customer-specific requirements and design of corresponding integration solutions
  • Conducting detailed root-cause analyses of production incidents and/or project changes
  • Providing technical expertise during the customer onboarding process
  • Ensuring stable and continuous operation of the FIX and MQ messaging infrastructure
  • Article on Monitoring and Automation Initiatives Using meshIQ Products
  • Participation in the team's rotating 24/7 on-call service

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science (from a university or university of applied sciences) or proven technical expertise
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with the FIX protocol, including in-depth knowledge of order/trade flows, the FIX engine, and frameworks
  • Solid knowledge of Linux
  • Programming skills in at least one of the following languages: ESOL, Bash, Perl, Java
  • Extensive experience with MQ client/broker connectivity and related industry standards using IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), and IBM ACE
  • Experience with client and exchange connectivity in financial markets
  • A solid understanding of key financial products (stocks, FX, derivatives)
  • Knowledge of SWIFT (ISO 20022 / MT) is considered an advantage
