Application Integration Engineer APAC

The Application Integration Engineer APAC is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration and maintenance of the global JB Messaging infrastructure at Julius Baer. The position combines the roles of an Integration Specialist and an IBM MQ Administrator and requires expertise in IBM middleware and messaging systems.

Job description

Tasks

  • Planning, installation, configuration and maintenance of the global JB Messaging infrastructure
  • Fulfillment of 2-3 operational tasks and participation in 2nd level support at Linux operating system level
  • Participation in the on-call service rotation

Rollers

Integration Specialist

  • Supporting customers with integration solutions based on message flows for service consumers and providers
  • Messages are routed, transformed and enriched during processing
  • Successful delivery and maintenance of integration solutions with IBM ACE
  • Expert knowledge of messaging on distributed systems

IBM MQ Administrator

  • Installation and administration of IBM MQ Server
  • Performing messaging-related tasks across one or more engineering teams
  • Design, installation and maintenance of queue managers and queues
  • Backup of messaging, maintenance of pub/sub messaging
  • Expert knowledge of asynchronous service-to-service communication

Regulatory responsibilities and/or risk management

  • Ensuring appropriate ethical and compliant behavior within the area of responsibility
  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behavior

Requirements

Profile

  • Thorough understanding of concepts and implications of building resilient and reliable EAI and SOA solutions on IBM middleware
  • Strong knowledge of different integration patterns
  • Thorough knowledge of server build installation and deployment, maintenance, migration and upgrades on existing MQ infrastructure
  • Experience with messaging tools such as MQ EFT, MFTZ, MQI, MQ-Load etc. and with system monitoring tools
  • Strong design and programming skills in ESQL, XML, XSLT, JSON, Web Services, Java, PL/SQL, Unix and Windows environments
  • Familiarity with SSL security implementation, certificate management, IBM MQ product monitoring, backup recovery, high availability, failover methods, disaster recovery, performance monitoring and optimization, IBM MQ security hardening and best practices
  • Good knowledge of software development methods, tools, standards and procedures for the development of high-quality software
  • General knowledge of scripting (Perl, Shell, Python etc.)
  • Strong analytical and good interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English
  • Ability to work on duty support shifts for onsite support
  • IBM MQ/IBM ACE certification is an advantage

Additional preferred skills

  • Knowledge of enterprise integration architecture standards
  • Knowledge of IT service management best practice
  • Familiarity with the complexities of working with hybrid teams
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and with classic/ agile methods
