Application Integration Engineer APAC

The Application Integration Engineer APAC is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration and maintenance of the global JB Messaging infrastructure at Julius Baer. The position combines the roles of an Integration Specialist and an IBM MQ Administrator to ensure a secure and error-free production environment.

Job description

Tasks

  • The Application Integration Engineer is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration and maintenance of the global JB Messaging infrastructure.
  • The employee should bring extensive knowledge of IBM products and certificates to ensure secure production messaging availability and uptime as well as smooth deployments in the production environment.
  • The employee participates in the daily operational task and supports on the second level with Linux operating systems.
  • The employee takes part in the on-call service rotation.

Rollers

Integration Specialist

  • The Integration Specialist supports various customers with integration solutions based on message flows for service consumers and providers.
  • The employee must have demonstrable experience in the successful delivery and maintenance of integration solutions with IBM ACE as well as expert knowledge of messaging in distributed systems.

IBM MQ Administrator

  • The IBM MQ Administrator installs and administers IBM MQ Server.
  • The employee performs various messaging-related tasks across one or more engineering teams, such as design, installation and maintenance of queue managers and queues.
  • The employee must have proven experience in the successful management and maintenance of queue managers and queues on a hub-and-spoke architecture.

Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management

  • The employee must ensure appropriate ethical and compliant behavior within the area of responsibility.

Requirements

Profile and skills

  • Thorough understanding of the concepts and implications of resilient and reliable EAI and SOA solutions on IBM middleware.
  • Thorough knowledge of server build installation and deployment, maintenance as well as migration and upgrade on existing MO infrastructure.
  • Experience with messaging tools such as MQ Editor, RFHCTRL, Q-Load etc. and with system monitoring tools.
  • Strong design and programming skills with technologies such as ESQL, XML, XSLT, JSON, Web Services, Java, PL/SQL etc.
  • Good knowledge of software development methods, tools, standards and procedures for high-quality software development.
  • General knowledge of scripting (Perl, Shell, Python etc.).
  • Strong analytical and good interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English.
  • Ability to work on duty support shifts for onsite support.

Additional preferred skills

  • Knowledge of enterprise integration architecture standards.
  • Knowledge of IT service management best practice.
  • Familiarity with the complexities of working with hybrid teams.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and with classic/agile methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
