Application Operations Engineer (Full-Time) (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking an Application Operations Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of core banking applications and providing second-level support. The ideal candidate should have experience in application support and possess strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Java servers.
Tasks
The tasks include:- Coordination and communication between incident managers, application service owners, third-level support, other IT/Agile teams, and business stakeholders
- Assuming the role of local administrative manager
- Regular on-call shifts (weekly 24/7 rotation)
- Managing change requests and ensuring the proper execution of application-related processes
- Participation in periodic release activities, including weekend deployments
- Contribution to projects related to the operational aspects of existing or newly integrated applications
- Performing routine data cleansing and system maintenance
- Optimization of processes and automation of recurring tasks, including handover to L1 (Control Center)
- Maintaining and updating the application operations documentation and the knowledge base
- Providing support for batch job scheduling and monitoring (e.g., Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar tools)
Requirements
The requirements are:- Completed IT education (degree in computer science or equivalent IT-related certification)
- At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
- Strong knowledge of Linux (shell scripting is an advantage)
- Solid understanding of Windows OS at the server level
- Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools (AWA experience is a plus)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Good written and spoken English skills
