Application Operations Engineer (Full-Time) (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking an Application Operations Engineer who will be responsible for the smooth operation of core banking applications and provide second-level support. The successful candidate will work closely with IT teams, business partners, and third-level support to coordinate incident management, changes, and releases within defined SLAs.
Tasks
- Effectively coordinate and communicate between incident managers, application service owners, third-level support, other IT/Agile teams, and business partners
- Take on periodic on-call duties (weekly 24/7 rotation)
- Manage change requests and ensure that application-related processes are executed correctly.
- Participate in periodic release activities, including weekend deployments
- Contribute to projects related to operational aspects of existing or newly integrated applications
- Perform regular data cleansing and system maintenance
- Drive process optimization and automation of recurring tasks, including handover to L1 (Control Center)
- Maintain and update application operations documentation and knowledge base
- Provide support for planning and monitoring batch jobs (e.g., Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar tools)
Requirements
- Completed IT education (degree in computer science or equivalent IT-related certification)
- At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
- Strong Linux skills (shell scripting is an advantage)
- Solid understanding of Windows OS at the server level
- Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools (AWA experience is a plus)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Good written and spoken English skills
