Application Operations Engineer (Full-Time) (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking an Application Operations Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of core banking applications and provide second-level support. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in application support, knowledge of Linux, and ITIL Foundation certification.
Tasks
- Ensure the smooth operation of our core banking applications, with a focus on application management (Level 2 support)
- Process incident tickets generated by monitoring systems and the local service desk within agreed SLAs
- Effectively coordinate and communicate between incident managers, application service owners, third-level support, other IT/Agile teams, and business partners
- Take on the role of local administrative manager
- Take on periodic on-call duties (weekly 24/7 rotation)
- Manage change requests and ensure that application-related processes are executed correctly.
- Participate in periodic release activities, including weekend deployments
- Contribute to projects related to operational aspects of existing or newly integrated applications
Requirements
- Completed IT education (degree in computer science or equivalent IT-related certification)
- At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
- Strong Linux skills (shell scripting is an advantage)
- Solid understanding of Windows OS at the server level
- Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools (AWA experience is a plus)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Experience with batch job support and scheduling tools (Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar)
- Ideally, experience in the banking or financial services industry with knowledge of financial products
- Proven ability to lead small teams or project management skills
