Application Manager (Full-Time)

Tasks

As an Application Manager at Julius Bär, you are responsible for resolving complex legacy defects that cannot be analyzed or resolved by medical software developers. Your responsibilities include:

• Communicating highly technical issues to a non-technical audience
• Influencing the engineering practices of existing developers
• Using root mediation/root cause analysis to identify the cause of problems
• Development, testing, and delivery using Java, C#, Spring Boot, Java/C/C++, and IBM MQ
• Translating business and system requirements into technical solutions that are scalable, stable, and fit for purpose
• Ensuring compliance with the highest standards (including code, security, and performance)

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:

• At least 10 years of experience in development using Core Java and Java EE
• At least 3 years of experience in the financial sector
• At least 2 years of experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Very well organized and able to prioritize and carry out multiple tasks
• Able to influence and steer projects to achieve key milestones and overcome challenges

Technical requirements

The following technical skills are required:

• Core Java 8 and JUnit
• Strong knowledge of computer science (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design)
• TDD, capable of writing acceptance tests
• Maven, Build and Release Shell Script Commands
• Java Messaging concepts (JMS), MQ, relational database concepts, SQL, joins, indexes, triggers, etc.
• High Service Level, SLA
