Application Manager

Tasks

• Address highly complex legacy defects that developers cannot analyze or resolve
• Communicate highly technical solutions to non-technical audiences
• Become an influencer and help improve the engineering practices of existing developers
• Earn the organization's trust by solving problems that others struggle with
• Develop using Java, EJB, Spring Boot, M/SOL, and IBM MQ
• Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that are scalable, stable, and reliable
• Ensuring compliance with banking standards (including code, security, and performance)
• This role provides access to production management systems (PMS, OMS, CICS, GMI, Client Onboarding, KYC, AML, Name Check, Document, Capita, GMI, and the UETP Portal)
• A passion for technology and robust, reliable Java systems
• Analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of complex end-to-end applications
• Working with the team to achieve goals
• Experience with agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban, and/or Extreme Programming
• Expertise in best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI)
• Investigating and resolving production issues to maintain a stable production environment

Client and stakeholder management

• Stakeholder Management - Close collaboration with finance, business change engineers, and project managers to steer and manage IT deliveries
• Requirements analysis, effort estimation, schedule planning, progress tracking
• Building strong project teams and maintaining clear communication about project status throughout the entire lifecycle
• Overseeing and reviewing technical and architectural designs, enforcing architectural guidelines, and challenging the status quo

Regulatory Responsibilities and I&O Risk Management

• Demonstrating appropriate values and behaviors, including standards for conduct and reliability, clear roles, and effective procedures for decision-making, escalation, and error handling

Requirements

Professional

• At least 10 years of experience in development using Core Java and Java EE
• At least 2 years of experience with TDD
• At least 3 years of experience with Java, EJB, Spring Boot, and/or similar technology stacks
• Ability to manage projects, meet milestones, and overcome challenges
• Ability to translate functional requirements into efficient and effective technical solutions
• Previous experience in the finance or banking sector is preferred

• Core: Java 8+, Java EE
• Strong knowledge of computer science (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design)
