Application Support Analyst

The Julius Baer Group is seeking an Application Support Analyst in Hong Kong to provide first and second line application support for critical systems in the areas of trading, execution, and wealth management. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of software operational support and experience in the banking sector, particularly in investment banking or private banking.

Tasks

The Application Support Analyst role includes the following tasks:
  • Deliver high-quality first-line and second-line application support for mission-critical systems within the trading, execution, and wealth management domains, with a primary focus on supporting front-office users.
  • End-to-end ownership for incident resolution, including timely and effective handling in accordance with defined SLAs and performing root cause analysis (RCA) to identify systemic issues and implement preventive measures
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills through clear, proactive communication in critical situations, especially under pressure, while adhering to global IT support processes and service excellence standards.
  • Maintain and continuously improve comprehensive technical and operational documentation, including runbooks, known issue databases, and knowledge articles, to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and consistency across the team's areas of responsibility.
  • Support regulatory and management reporting initiatives by contributing accurate, timely data and insights to ensure compliance with internal governance requirements and external obligations

Requirements

The ideal candidates should meet the following requirements:
  • Good understanding of software operational support and strong knowledge of the banking sector, particularly in investment banking or private banking
  • Good understanding of development lifecycle methods such as agile methodology
  • Good understanding of database design with the ability to write scripts and complex SQL queries (desirable)
  • Experience with technology stacks used in a typical client-server architecture, e.g., Java, JavaEE, and web (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.) (advantage)
  • Language skills: English (spoken and written) required; Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) preferred
