Application Support Engineer, AVP
The Application Support Engineer (AVP) at Charles River Development (CRD) provides operational and application support to customers and internal business units to minimize disruptions and issues. The focus is on resolving complex technical, functional and operational issues and communicating with customers and internal departments.
Job description
Tasks
- Delivery of escalation services for the most complex/problematic technical, functional and operational issues of CRD systems.
- Provide deep CRIMS, domain and/or infrastructure experience combined with advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Addressing "sensitive" issues and situations that affect the perception of how CRD solves customer problems.
- Management-level thinking, demonstration of perceptive skills of situations, can see the bigger picture of problems.
- Quarterly meetings with CRD product engineer to provide feedback on significant operational and support issues and prioritize NFRs in product/eng.
- Packaging of issues, previous work and related information for efficient escalation to engineering, product management or both.
- Act as an entry point for the introduction of new products into the SaaS infrastructure and provide feedback on potential deployment and operational issues.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in the financial/software services industry, preferably with financial market information systems.
- At least 5 years of experience with the Charles River application.
- Proven ability to work with various internal departments to deliver excellent customer service.
- Successful customer management and support.
- Knowledge of front, middle and back office and instrument types across equities, fixed income, derivatives, foreign exchange, etc.
- Proven ability to focus on C-level client management using a hands-on approach in large and mid-sized organizations.
- Understanding of multi-tier technical architectures and relational database structures. Familiarity with SQL, FIX, Crystal Reports, messaging and web services is an advantage.
- Exposure to one or more structured programming languages.
- Excellent customer service skills, technical troubleshooting skills and interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

- Bachelor's degree from a university or college in business administration, economics, finance, computer science, engineering or similar.
