Overview
Application Support Engineer
Tasks
- Act as level 1 application support for business users with escalation to the 2nd line application support team and on our escalation hotlist
- Acceptance and prioritization of problems with Zendesk, Stack, ServiceNow or 3rd System and follow-up until final resolution
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis, effective management and diagnosis of problems
- Communication with internal technology teams, end users and 3rd parties
- Analysis of the root cause of various tasks and problem solving
- Monitoring of business systems; investigation, analysis and resolution of errors
- Writing SQL scripts to resolve user queries; testing, defect management by following change controls in our business systems
- Preparation and distribution of daily handover and release notes
- Contribution to procedures and guidelines by updating knowledge bases
- Cooperation with internal and external auditors
Requirements
Essential Skills
- Relevant IT experience / helpdesk support experience
- Experience with Windows-based environment; Windows 10, Windows Server, Office 365
- Ability to multitask and cope with pressure
- Very accurate approach to data entry and verification
Desirable
- Database skills; SQL, Oracle, MS SQL
- Knowledge of DevOps systems (Unix / Linux)
- Experience with Unix, Python, MongoDB, Redis, PowerShell
- Knowledge of securities systems (OMS, FIX, SDLC, Bloomberg, TradeWeb, Novus, L.E.K. Analytics, Saber, InfoQ and MarketWire)
- Novell applications - some experience in support or knowledge of trading, portfolio management, risk, settlement and reconciliation applications
- Some knowledge/technology of financial markets and instruments; with broad asset class - equities, derivatives, options, credits etc. through previous experience in the financial services sector
