Application Support Specialist, 2nd Level Support, 100% (f/m/d)
Julius Baer is seeking an Application Support Specialist in Madrid for Level 2 Support, who will be responsible for providing support for software and hardware applications and monitoring IT services. The role requires an IT background, at least two years of experience in application support, knowledge of Linux, and ITIL certification.
Tasks
- Providing 2nd-level support (L2) for everyone (customers, business users, third-party providers, ServiceNow or other ticketing systems, and business stakeholders)
- Perception of the Role of the Local Administrative Manager
- Covering periodic on-call shifts (weekly 24/7 rotation)
- Managing change requests and ensuring that application-related changes are implemented properly
- Participation in periodic release activities, including weekend deployments
- Contribution to projects related to the operational aspects of existing or newly integrated applications
- Performing routine data cleansing and system maintenance
- Promoting process optimization and the automation of recurring tasks, including manuals and instructions
- Maintaining and updating application operations documentation and the knowledge base (ServiceNow, e.g., in the BAER Wiki or similar tools)
- Providing support for the planning and monitoring of batch jobs (e.g., Automated AWA Control-M)
Requirements
- Completed IT training (degree in computer science or an equivalent IT-related program)
- At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
- Strong Linux skills (shell scripting is an advantage)
- A solid understanding of the Windows operating system at the server level
- Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation; integration experience is a plus
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Experience with batch job support and scheduling tools (Automated AWA Control-M or similar)
- Knowledge of the ServiceNow tool. Additional training in ITIL Foundation or other specialized IT certifications is a plus
