Systems Architect

BCN, a community bank, is seeking an IT Architect to oversee the documentation, governance, and resilience of the bank’s information systems (IS). The IT Architect will be responsible for establishing best practices for implementing new systems and shaping the future technical architecture of the IS.

Mission of the position

The IT Architect is responsible for the documentation, governance, and resilience of the bank’s IT system in accordance with FINMA regulatory standards. The IT Architect maintains an architecture repository (assets, areas, service providers) and ensures that documentation and architectural best practices are kept up to date in line with the bank’s strategy.

Tâches principales

  • Architecture Governance
  • Provide best practices for implementing new systems
  • Design the future technical architecture of the information system (cloud technologies, AI, etc.)
  • Define the principles of urban planning, integration, and interoperability
  • Ensure compliance with Finova community standards and guidelines

Governance and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with FINMA requirements (operational resilience, TGC risk management, outsourcing)
  • Contribute to architecture committees and steering groups
  • Document key decisions and trade-offs
  • Ensure that the information system is kept up to date (cybersecurity) and maintained (lifecycle)

Multi-bank coordination and ecosystem

  • Participate in interbank working groups related to the Finova banking system (infrastructure, technology)
  • Share best practices and feedback within the community
  • Contribute to the consistency of structural decisions at the community level

Partner Integration and Management

  • Ensure effective management of risks associated with outsourcing
  • Ensure regular updates and architectural reviews in cooperation with security authorities

Operational Excellence and Resilience

  • Integrate security, performance, and continuity requirements and align them with IT priorities
  • Ensure control over critical dependencies
  • Support the platform's ability to continuously evolve

Desired profile

  • Education in computer science, systems architecture, or an equivalent field
  • Certification in enterprise architecture (TOGAF or equivalent): a plus

Technical and methodological skills

  • Application Architecture and Integration (API, Services, Orchestration)
  • Modeling of flows and critical dependencies
  • Information System Security
  • Outsourced and hybrid environments
  • Enterprise Architecture Tools

Personal Skills

  • Ability to operate in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Cross-functional leadership, diplomacy, and a collaborative spirit
  • Strategic vision and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to synthesize information

Language skills

  • French: native language or equivalent
  • English: fluent (spoken and written)
  • German: good spoken and written comprehension – ideally B2 level or higher
