Assistant Manager Governance

The Assistant Manager Governance supports the Director and Senior Manager in leading the team and ensuring compliance standards are met and team objectives are executed smoothly. The focus of the role will be to oversee AML/CFT/CPF and compliance elements and lead improvement initiatives and projects.

Job description

Tasks

  • Supporting the Director and Senior Managers in the efficient and effective functioning of the team
  • Daily support and contribution to the effective execution of team goals
  • Developing the necessary skills for future management tasks
  • Ensuring smooth processes, adherence to compliance standards and maintenance of service levels
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, managing workloads and priorities
  • Contribution to the delivery of high-quality services

Main tasks

  • Assuming responsibility for AML/CFT/CPF and compliance elements of the services provided by EFG
  • Conducting compliance tests and preparing six-monthly compliance reports
  • Management and maintenance of client and investor due diligence (CDD)
  • Monitoring of the client-related audit process and external audit points
  • Development and maintenance of systems and controls
  • Delivering proactive client service while effectively managing operational and fiduciary risks
  • Monitoring, organizing and prioritizing the workload
  • Supervision and support of junior colleagues
  • Contribution to projects and change initiatives
  • Support from colleagues and the company
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and internal guidelines
  • Taking responsibility for personal development

Requirements

  • Recognized professional qualification (e.g. accounting, chartered secretary, STEP, banking, securities, compliance)
  • 3 years of relevant experience in the financial sector
  • Good knowledge of the local financial industry, legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Strong commitment to customer service excellence
  • Ability to effectively manage workloads and navigate deadlines
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and communicate clearly and purposefully
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
