Assistant Relationship Manager

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports the Relationship Manager in achieving business objectives and provides comprehensive private banking services to meet the diverse wealth management needs of clients. The position requires a university degree and preferably 2-3 years of experience in private banking.

Job description

The main duties and responsibilities include:
  • The bank and its banking services are introduced to potential customers.
  • Support the Relationship Manager in achieving their business goals, such as NNA and revenue targets.
  • Marketing and providing comprehensive private banking services to meet a variety of wealth management needs.
  • Conducting KYC/AML due diligence reviews for customers in accordance with the bank’s general guidelines and performing regular periodic reviews.
  • Administering the Investment Risk Profile Questionnaire to clients when they open an account, as well as conducting regular periodic reviews to assess and update the suitability of investment products, the clients’ risk profiles, and their investment experience.
  • Communicating and coordinating with the bank’s investment units, such as the Treasury Department and the Global Product Unit, to share product information and market commentary with clients.
  • Monitoring customer portfolios and accounts to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Preparation and maintenance of proper records, including but not limited to account documentation, CIP, IRPQ, loan applications and related documents, trading transactions, and call reports.
  • Receipt, confirmation, and execution of customer investment orders, including, but not limited to, money market, securities, mutual fund, and foreign exchange transactions.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the credit department to ensure that all customer loan applications are processed properly.
  • Participation in internal and external training sessions and meetings, whenever possible and necessary.
  • Handling general ad hoc tasks, such as regular follow-ups and administrative work.
  • Support for ad hoc IT projects aimed at improving or upgrading current IT systems, as needed.
  • Act as a substitute for other Assistant Relationship Managers when necessary.

Requirements

  • university degree
  • Preference for 2-3 years of experience in private banking
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
  • Professional qualifications, such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF), are an advantage.
