Assistant Relationship Manager – Focus on Trading and Execution (Full-Time) (f/m/d)
The Assistant Relationship Manager at Julius Baer provides support for trading and execution activities and serves as a liaison between external asset managers, relationship managers, and internal trading and execution teams. The role combines client support with hands-on involvement in trading, execution, and real-time processing.
Tasks
- Manage the full range of customer transactions, including securities trading, foreign exchange, credit utilization, deposits, and payments
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of trading orders, including complex and high-value transactions, with strict adherence to deadlines and mark-to-market cut-offs
- Monitoring and taking into account credit exposure, margin availability, and liquidity before executing or routing transactions
- Coordinate with trading departments, execution teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely processing
- Actively manage time-sensitive tasks and prioritization, particularly in volatile market conditions or for large/complex transactions
- Support for loans, credit lines, deposits, foreign exchange, and payments to ensure proper execution and tracking
- Maintaining a strong awareness of risk in all activities, including:
- Execution, settlement, and counterparty risks
- Credit and Margin Risks
- Unusual transaction patterns, particularly in payment flows
Customer Interaction & Consulting (EAM Focus)
- Serve as the direct point of contact for EAMs on trade-related and operational matters
- Provide clear and professional guidance on:
- Investment products (including structured products)
- Execution restrictions, time limits, and market practices
- Credit exposure, margin availability, and related solutions
- Banking platforms and available tools
- Communicate proactively about the status of orders, issues, and delays, especially in time-sensitive situations
- Maintaining a calm, reliable, and solution-oriented approach under pressure
Account & Data Management
- Ensuring the high-quality maintenance of customer data and documentation
- Retrieving and providing product, pricing, and market information using internal systems and external sources
Requirements
- Banking apprenticeship or equivalent financial training
- Experience in a trading support, execution, or customer service role
- Exposure to financial markets and investment products
Professional skills
- A solid understanding of financial markets, trading processes, and instruments, as well as credit, margin, and risk considerations, and FX, payment, deposit, and credit services
- Ability to effectively utilize internal systems and external sources for product and market information
- Familiarity with trading and order management systems is an advantage
- Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
