Assistant Relationship Manager Iberia (Full-Time) (f/m/d)

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports one or more Relationship Managers in their day-to-day work, client service, and the management of client relationships in the private banking sector. The position requires a combination of administrative skills, a client-focused approach, and knowledge of financial markets and banking.

About the job

The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) in Private Banking supports one or more Relationship Managers (RMs) or Team Heads (THs) with day-to-day operations, administration, client care, and administrative management. The ARM interacts with internal and external stakeholders, provides clients with relevant information, and assists the RM in implementing tailored solutions.

Your challenge

Your responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the RM/TH in client interactions and all related tasks (systems, processes, files, documents, etc.) with a high level of quality, precision, and prompt responsiveness
  • Coordination of client requests (reporting, statistics, meetings, etc.)
  • Managing the RM/TH calendar, preparing for client meetings, organizing business trips, and following up on client calls, client meetings, or business trips for the RM/TH
  • Preparation of presentations, assistance with the development of investment proposals, and support with marketing activities as needed (client receptions, meetings, business trips, etc.)
  • Ensuring coverage during your own absences

Business tasks

Your responsibilities include:
  • Regular collection and exchange of relevant information necessary for the work
  • Organizing in an efficient and compliant manner and ensuring that supervisors are provided with timely and appropriate information
  • Conducting reviews, planning ahead, and documenting work at all times
  • Supporting the RM/TH in the implementation of projects and initiatives
  • Providing professional input and suggestions for improvement based on experience, incidents, or observations
  • Management of the expense reporting process for RM/TH

Risk management & controls

Your responsibilities include:
  • Active support for risk management (supporting the first line of defense), e.g., with client documentation, by raising concerns, tracking issues, and escalating matters when uncertainty arises
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal policies and standards (e.g., opening new accounts, processing payment instructions, reviewing client phone calls, or signing off on transactions within one’s own authority level, etc.) in collaboration with the respective Relationship Managers (RMs) and Transaction Managers (THs)
  • Ensuring that outstanding issues and escalated defects are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensuring appropriate ethical and compliant conduct within his area of responsibility
  • Ensuring that client interactions and client orders are documented accurately, clearly, and comprehensively in the appropriate tool (e.g., CRM, DIAS)

Requirements

  • Proven track record in serving bank customers with complex needs (onboarding or maintaining and expanding new and existing relationships)

Professional skills

  • A strong understanding of the local market, including familiarity with the legal and regulatory environment as well as cultural sensitivity
