Assistant Relationship Manager, Intermediaries (Full-Time) (f/m/d)

As an Assistant Relationship Manager for Intermediaries, you will support the team and the Relationship Managers in the administration and support of intermediaries and end customers in Lugano. The position requires in-depth knowledge of the financial industry, excellent organizational skills, and fluency in Italian and English.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Client Administration & Management

  • Supports the RM and the team in all aspects of client interaction
  • Answers incoming calls and takes prompt action
  • Maintains and updates records of client instructions, details, and preferences; is responsible for providing timely reports to the relationship manager
  • Provides clients with verbal and/or written information and data, without offering strategic advice or opinions on any topics, trading, asset allocation, or product applications; handles and executes clients’ requests
  • Processes orders, trades, transactions, and payments (excluding e-channels) and handles and resolves all types of issues
  • Help promote the use and adoption of our dedicated platforms for intermediaries and family offices within the business, such as “My Julius Baer”
  • Monitors the maturity list for deposits, loans, and trades; takes action when instructed by the relationship manager (RM), the RM’s clients, or colleagues for whom the RM provides support; seeks instructions (from the RM or client) if necessary and required

Business Management

  • Organizes and follows up on client meetings, including logistics and document preparation with internal and external consultants
  • Supports the RM in investigations and troubleshooting, maintaining close working relationships with key partners such as compliance, advisory, support, and all other internal departments and collaboration partners, while consistently evaluating the scope and authority of the assistant RM

Risk Management

  • Full adherence at all times to compliance requirements, legal guidelines, internal rules, regulations, and Company policies
  • Serves as the first line of defense against risk by raising concerns, following up on issues, and escalating them as necessary, within the scope and authority of the Assistant RM
  • Takes the initiative to review and challenge a decision or instruction internally if something appears to be inconsistent with the law, a standard, or a policy

  • Very good MS Office skills

Education & Experience

  • Relevant educational background (banking apprenticeship or equivalent) and professional background/work experience in the financial industry
  • Fundamental knowledge of financial markets: structure, function, and legal and regulatory environment, as well as an understanding of current market trends in the industry
  • Basic understanding of relevant products and services for EAM clients: client-specific principles and industry guidelines (client advisory and/or product applications) and the key processes from an end-to-end perspective: structuring, initiation, order placement, settlement, valuation, etc.
  • Excellent language skills (spoken and written) in Italian and English; German is a plus and may be required
