Assistant Relationship Manager

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports one or more Relationship Managers in daily operations, administration, and client management, and interacts with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires a high level of service orientation, professional communication, and the ability to work under pressure, as well as a basic understanding of relevant products and services in private banking.

Tasks

The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) supports one or more Relationship Managers/Group Heads (GH) in daily operations, administration, and client management. The ARM interacts with internal and external stakeholders, provides clients with relevant information, and supports the RM in implementing customized solutions.

Business tasks

  • regularly collects relevant information that is necessary for the work
  • conducts reviews, plans and documents his work
  • Supports the RM/GH in implementing projects and initiatives in close coordination with the Business Manager team

Risk management and controls

  • actively assists with risk management (supporting the first line of defense), e.g., in client documentation, by flagging concerns, tracking issues, and escalating uncertainties
  • Ensures compliance with local regulations and internal guidelines and standards (e.g., new account openings, payment instructions, verification of client phone calls or signatures at his/her level of competence, etc.) in cooperation with the respective RMs, GH, and Team Business Manager.
  • ensures the timely clarification of outstanding issues and escalated defects
  • ensures appropriate ethical and compatible behavior within his area of responsibility
  • Ensures accurate, meaningful, and understandable documentation of client interactions/client orders in the appropriate tool (e.g., CRM, DIAS).

Regulatory responsibilities

  • Demonstrates appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, diligence and conscientiousness, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), conflict management, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
