Assistant Relationship Manager

The Julius Baer Group is seeking an Assistant Relationship Manager to support one or more Relationship Managers in their day-to-day work, administrative tasks, and client service. The Assistant Relationship Manager is expected to provide a high level of service and assist the Relationship Managers in implementing customized solutions for clients.

Tasks

The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) supports one or more Relationship Manager(s) (RM) / Group Head(s) (GH) in daily operations, administration, and client management. Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting RMs/GH in client interactions and all related tasks
  • Customization of client requests (reporting, statistics, mailings, etc.)
  • Managing the RM/GH calendar, preparing for client meetings, organizing business trips, and following up on client calls, meetings, or trips
  • Creating presentations, assisting with the preparation of investment proposals, and supporting marketing activities
  • Ensuring coverage during your own absences

management

The ARM:
  • regularly collects information relevant to the work
  • conducts reviews, plans and documents his work
  • assists RM/GH in implementing projects and initiatives
  • provides professional suggestions for improvements based on experience, incidents, or observations
  • manages the expense reimbursement process for RMs/GH

Risk management and controls

The ARM:
  • actively assists with risk management (supporting the first line of defense)
  • ensures compliance with local regulations and internal guidelines and standards
  • ensures that outstanding issues and escalated defects are resolved
  • ensures appropriate ethical and compatible behavior within his area of responsibility
  • Ensures accurate, meaningful, and understandable documentation of client interactions/client orders.

Regulatory responsibilities

The ARM:
  • demonstrates appropriate values and behaviors, including standards of honesty, integrity, diligence, and prudence; fair treatment (treating customers fairly); conflict management; competence and continuous development; appropriate risk management; and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

The ARM should:
  • Be highly service-oriented and passionate about client care.
  • have a systematic, precise, and conscientious approach to work and the ability to work under pressure
  • demonstrate personal integrity and ethical behavior

Professional and technical skills

The ARM should:
  • have adequate knowledge of relevant private banking products and services
  • have a fundamental understanding of global financial markets and current developments in the industry
  • have a strong understanding of the geographic market, i.e., be familiar with the legal and regulatory environment and possess cultural sensitivity
