Assistant Relationship Manager

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports one or more Relationship Managers in their day-to-day work, administrative tasks, and client service, and interacts with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires a high level of quality, precision, and responsiveness in supporting Relationship Managers as they implement customized solutions for clients.

Tasks

The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) supports one or more Relationship Manager(s) (RM) / Group Head(s) (GH) in daily operations, administration, and client management. Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the RM/GH in client interactions and all related tasks
  • Coordinating client requests (reporting, statistics, mailings, etc.)
  • Managing the RM/GH’s calendar, preparing for client meetings, organizing business trips, and following up on client calls, meetings, or business trips
  • Compilation of presentations, support in the preparation of investment proposals and marketing activities
  • Ensuring coverage during absence

management

The ARM:
  • regularly collects information relevant to the work
  • conducts reviews, plans and documents his work
  • assists the RM/GH in implementing projects and initiatives
  • provides professional suggestions for improvements based on experience, incidents, or observations
  • manages the expense reporting process for RM/GH

Risk management and controls

The ARM:
  • actively assists with risk management (first line of defense), e.g., with client documentation, by raising concerns, following up on issues, and escalating in cases of uncertainty
  • ensures compliance with local regulations and internal guidelines and standards
  • ensures the timely clarification of outstanding issues and escalated defects
  • ensures appropriate ethical and compatible behavior within his area of responsibility
  • ensures that client interactions and client orders are documented accurately, clearly, and comprehensively in the appropriate tools

Regulatory responsibilities

The ARM:
  • demonstrates appropriate values and behaviors, including, but not limited to, standards of honesty and integrity, diligence and prudence, fair treatment (equitable treatment of customers), conflict management, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Professional and technical skills

The ARM should:
  • have a good understanding of relevant products and services in private banking
  • have a basic understanding of global financial markets and current industry trends
  • a strong understanding of the geographic market (e.g., familiarity with the legal and regulatory environment as well as cultural
