Assistant Relationship Manager

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports one or more Relationship Managers in their day-to-day work, administrative tasks, and client service, and interacts with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires a strong service orientation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Tasks

The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) supports one or more Relationship Managers (RM) / Group Heads (GH) in daily operations, administration, and client management. Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting RMs/GH in client interactions and all related tasks
  • Customization of client requests (reporting, statistics, mailings, etc.)
  • Managing the calendars of RMs/GH, preparing for client meetings, organizing business trips, and following up on client calls, meetings, or trips
  • Compilation of presentations, support in the preparation of investment proposals and marketing activities
  • Ensuring coverage during absences

Business Management

The ARM:
  • regularly collects information relevant to the work
  • conducts reviews, plans and documents his work
  • assists RMs/GH in implementing projects and initiatives
  • offers professional suggestions for improvements
  • manages the expense reimbursement process for RMs/GH

Risk management and controls

The ARM:
  • actively supports risk management (first line of defense)
  • ensures adherence to local regulations and compliance with internal policies and standards
  • ensures the timely clarification of open issues and escalated defects
  • ensures appropriate ethical and compliant behavior within his area of responsibility
  • ensures accurate and clear documentation of client interactions

Regulatory responsibilities

The ARM:
  • demonstrates appropriate values and behavior
  • demonstrates honesty, integrity, diligence, and fairness

The ARM should:
  • have an adequate understanding of relevant products and services in private banking
  • have a fundamental understanding of global financial markets and current developments in the industry
  • have a strong understanding of the geographic market, i.e., be familiar with the legal and regulatory environment and possess cultural sensitivity
