Assistant Relationship Manager

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports Relationship Managers and Group Heads in day-to-day operations, administration, customer service, and relationship management in the area of private banking. The position requires strong communication and customer focus skills as well as experience in banking.

Tasks

  • Supporting relationship managers (RMs) and group heads (GHs) in daily operations, administration, customer service, and relationship management
  • Interacting with internal and external stakeholders, providing relevant information to customers and supporting the implementation of customized solutions

Tasks in detail

Client Administration & Management

  • Support with customer interactions and related tasks (systems, processes, files, documents, etc.) with high quality, precision, and responsiveness
  • Customization of customer requests (reporting, statistics, meetings, etc.)
  • Managing the calendar of RMs/GH, preparing customer meetings, organizing business trips, following up on customer meetings or business trips
  • Preparation of presentations, support in the preparation of investment proposals and marketing activities
  • Ensuring representation in the event of absence

Business Management

  • Regular collection and exchange of relevant information
  • Organization and self-management in an efficient and compliant manner
  • Conducting plan reviews and documenting the work
  • Support with the implementation of projects and initiatives
  • Creation of proposals for improvements based on experience
  • Administration of expense allowances for RMs/GH
  • Ongoing administrative support

Further tasks

  • Processing of customer order transfers, securities purchases, funds, bonds, money market and foreign exchange transactions
  • Processing customer inquiries and solving problems
  • Managing appointment calendars, booking customer meetings, assisting with event preparation

Identification of growth opportunities

  • Identification of opportunities to increase customer share / cross-sales
  • Customer contacts to check satisfaction with service levels and identify additional needs
  • Conducting research assignments

Regulatory responsibilities / Risk management & controls

  • Active support in risk management
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal guidelines and standards
  • Ensuring the timely clarification of open issues and escalated defects
  • Appropriate treatment of other areas of responsibility

Requirements

Personal and social requirements

  • Customer focus and good communication skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with customers in the customer's native language
  • High level of self-motivation, positive attitude, and proactive approach
  • Understanding of structures and back-office processes as well as legal and compliance-related procedures
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Good and fast learning ability
  • Team-oriented personality with attention to detail
  • Excellent adaptability to different backgrounds

Professional requirements

  • Familiarity with the geographic market, i.e., knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as well as cultural aspects
  • Good understanding of relevant products and services in private banking
  • Basic knowledge of global financial markets and current developments in the industry
  • Proven experience in supporting banking clients with complex needs
  • Degree in finance, economics, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience as an Assistant Relationship Manager in private banking
